Short & clear

With AI, a simple website can be created quickly today: AI builders generate a draft from just a few inputs, and assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude write copy and even HTML code. For tests, prototypes or very small projects, that can be enough. For a company website that is meant to be found, be legally sound and bring in inquiries, however, AI results often lack strategy, review and technical quality. A hybrid approach usually makes sense: AI for drafts, professionals for structure, legal compliance, technology and finishing touches.

How do I create a website with AI?

There are two ways to create a website with AI. The first is website builders with an AI feature: you answer a few questions about industry, style and offer, and the system generates the page structure, copy and images, which you then adjust in the editor. The provider handles hosting and technology, but you remain tied to its platform and plans.

The second way is AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude. Anyone asking “How do I create a website with Claude?” gets HTML, CSS and JavaScript code, draft copy or structure suggestions on request. You do have to review the result yourself, upload it to a server, connect it to a domain and add a legal notice, privacy policy and form processing. Without basic web development knowledge, you quickly hit limits.

  • AI builder: fast and convenient, but tied to the provider
  • AI assistant: flexible, but technology and review are up to you
  • In both cases: check the result for accuracy and legal compliance

What AI does well when creating websites

AI is strong at quickly delivering raw material: outlines for pages, first draft copy, headline variants, image ideas or code building blocks for individual elements. For a first prototype, to test a business idea or to discuss content internally, that is valuable. For existing websites, too, AI helps to revise copy, write summaries or draft FAQs.

It's important to see AI as a tool, not as a substitute for decisions. Which target audience you address, which offer is front and center and how your company differs from the competition is something AI can only reflect as well as you describe it to it. The more precise your input, the more usable the draft – and the less rework later.

Limits and risks of an AI website

AI-generated websites often feel interchangeable: similar phrasing, generic images, standard layout. For search engines and visitors, what builds trust is then missing – real information, concrete examples, recognizable expertise. Factual errors add to this, because AI also states false information convincingly. Every statement about services, prices or the legal situation must therefore be checked before it goes online.

Technically, a clean heading structure, accessibility, fast load times and secure forms are often missing. Automatically generated legal notice and privacy policy texts are legally delicate, as are embedded fonts or services that transfer data to third countries. In addition, purely AI-generated content generally enjoys no copyright protection under German law. This does not replace legal advice.

  • Interchangeable copy without real distinguishing features
  • Factual errors that sound convincing
  • Missing accessibility and SEO structure
  • Legal risks with legal notice, privacy and embeds
  • Unclear rights to purely AI-generated content

Get a website built for free – does that exist?

Getting a professionally built website for free is not realistic: concept, design, technology and legal review are work. At most, entry-level plans of website builders are free – usually with a subdomain, provider ads and limited features – or creation with AI, where you invest your own time. Hosting, domain and legal obligations remain even then.

How much does it cost to have a website built? That depends on page count, features, content and design. As a guide, our packages are Starter from €2,500, Professional from €8,000 and Enterprise priced individually. After the free initial consultation you receive a transparent quote, for a clearly defined scope preferably at a fixed price – so you know in advance what to expect.

Having an app or software developed with AI

Similar questions arise with apps and software. AI tools today write code for individual functions and put prototypes together surprisingly fast. But an app that should hold up in the store, protect user data and work with your systems needs architecture, testing, security review and maintenance – tasks for which AI cannot take responsibility.

“Having AI software developed” can also mean something else: software that itself uses AI. This includes, for example, an AI chatbot on the website that answers questions about your services, automatic analysis of documents or assistants for internal workflows. We implement such features with our AI integration – privacy-conscious and integrated into your existing systems.

Our recommendation: AI as a tool, professionals for the result

If you just want to test whether an idea works, or need a very simple page for a limited purpose, an AI builder is a legitimate start. As soon as the website permanently represents your company, should be found on Google and bring in inquiries, professional implementation pays off. There, positioning, content, technology and legal diligence decide success.

At Nano Concepts, websites are created together with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN: concept and design from LOMA DESIGN, development, performance and integrations from us. Feel free to bring your AI draft to the initial consultation – it is a good basis for discussing goals and content, and quickly shows us what you like.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

For simple websites that's possible with AI builders or assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude. But you have to review the results, adjust them and add the legally required information. For a professional company presence, a purely AI-generated result is rarely enough.

Describe the purpose, target audience, desired pages and style to Claude as precisely as possible, and have it generate the structure, copy and HTML code. Then you review the result, upload it to a host and connect it to your domain. You should have the legal notice, privacy policy and forms reviewed by an expert.

Many AI builders and assistants offer free entry-level plans with limitations. For your own domain, hosting without third-party ads and advanced features, costs generally apply. Your time for review and adjustment comes on top.

According to Google, it evaluates the quality and helpfulness of content, not whether it was created with AI. However, mass-produced text with no added value that is only meant to manipulate rankings violates the spam policies. What matters is that your content offers real, verified information.

For simple drafts, AI can speed up a lot, but it doesn't take on responsibility for strategy, quality, technology and legal compliance. An agency brings experience with audiences, search engines and ongoing operations. Many companies combine both – AI for drafts, professionals for the finished result.

The costs depend on scope, features, content and design. As a guide, our packages are Starter from €2,500, Professional from €8,000 and Enterprise priced individually. You receive the exact quote after the free initial consultation.
