Have an app built for your business – for employees, customers and processes

When information hangs on the bulletin board, vacation requests travel on paper and the production floor knows nothing about the intranet, an app becomes a tool instead of a vanity project. We develop business apps for iOS, Android and the browser – tailored to your processes and systems.

Short & clear

A good app for businesses solves a clearly defined problem better than email, Excel and a notice board – such as communicating with employees who have no office desk, time tracking and vacation requests, or service for customers. It has to fit into existing systems such as HR, ERP or Microsoft 365 environments and be operated in compliance with data protection rules. At Nano Concepts, small entry-level apps start in the Starter package from €2,500, typical employee or customer apps with interfaces fall into the Professional package from €8,000, and large solutions with many locations into the Enterprise package – after the free initial consultation you’ll receive a concrete quote.

App for Businesses with Nano Concepts

In many companies a large part of the workforce doesn’t work at a desk: in production, in the warehouse, in care, in sales or in the field. These people often have no company email and learn the news from notices or the grapevine. An app for internal company communication reaches them directly on their smartphone – with news, shift info, documents and surveys. What matters is that information is targeted by location, department or role so that nobody is flooded with messages that don’t concern them.

01

Communication is rarely the only reason. Usually there are processes that today run on paper or email: time tracking, vacation planning, sick notes to HR, shift swaps, calendars for rooms and vehicles, damage reports or checklists. A business app bundles such processes in one interface and hands the data over to systems you already use – such as payroll, ERP or Microsoft 365. The result is not another data silo but fast mobile access to what is already there.

02

Honesty up front: if your team works at a computer anyway and uses Microsoft Teams or a ready-made time tracking tool, you probably don’t need your own app. A custom app pays off when your processes are special, when several isolated solutions are to be merged or when customers and partners are to use an app with your brand. In the initial consultation we tell you openly which route makes economic sense. Among other things, we bring experience from a service technician app with offline sync that has been in daily use for years.

What matters with App for Businesses

Clear purpose

An employee app, a customer app and a process app have different requirements. If you define the most important use case first, you get an app that actually gets used.

Involve the works council early

Apps that record hours, locations or performance may be subject to co-determination. We supply the technical facts for those discussions, but this does not replace legal advice.

Data protection and hosting

Employee data requires a roles-and-permissions concept, data processing agreements and traceable retention periods. Hosting in Germany or the EU is a given for many companies.

Access without a company email

Employees without a company account need a secure, simple login, for example via an invitation code. Where one exists, everyone signs in with their existing company account via single sign-on.

Company or personal device

Does the app run on company phones with mobile device management or on personal smartphones? Security, distribution and usage rules depend on it.

Features

These are the features we build for you

News and company communication

Posts, push notifications, read receipts and comments – targeted by location, team or role.

Time tracking

Clock in, clock out, breaks and project time via app, terminal or browser, with export to payroll.

Vacation planner and absences

Requests, approval by supervisors, remaining leave and a team calendar – without forms and email ping-pong.

Calendars and resources

Shared calendars for appointments, shifts, rooms, vehicles or machines, synced with Outlook if you like.

Forms and checklists

Capture damage reports, safety briefings, handover protocols or quality checks digitally, with photos and signature.

Interfaces and admin area

Connection to HR, ERP or Microsoft 365 systems via APIs, and an admin area where you manage content and users yourself.

Practical examples

Here's what that looks like day to day

Production without company email

A manufacturer has so far reached its shift workers only through notices. An employee app with shift info, news and vacation requests puts information on the smartphone and takes pressure off the HR department.

Service company with field staff

A service provider coordinates its technicians by phone and Excel. An app with jobs, time tracking and offline sync delivers service reports straight to the office instead of collecting them at the end of the month.

Customer app for reorders

A wholesaler wants regular customers to reorder, see the delivery status and report complaints with a photo. A customer app connected to the ERP replaces many calls and emails.

Process

Four steps to your solution

  1. Use case workshopWe clarify who uses the app, which problem it solves first and which systems are connected – gladly together with IT, HR and the works council.
  2. Prototype and pilot groupA clickable prototype is tested with a small group of real users before development starts.
  3. Development in stagesThe most important functions go live first; further modules follow once the app proves itself in everyday use.
  4. Distribution and operationPublication in the app stores, distribution via MDM or as a web app, plus monitoring, updates and support.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about App for Businesses

It starts with a clear use case: who uses the app, and what should become faster or easier afterward? From there come the concept, a clickable prototype and development in stages. At Nano Concepts, this begins with a free initial consultation; we usually reply to your inquiry within 24 hours.

What matters is the number of functions, user roles, interfaces and platforms, as well as the requirements for security and operation. Small entry-level apps start in the Starter package from €2,500, employee or customer apps with integrations usually fall into the Professional package from €8,000, and large solutions into the Enterprise package. You’ll receive a binding quote after the initial consultation.

Above all when many employees have no PC workstation and no company email. If everyone works in Microsoft Teams anyway, its feature set is often enough. We’ll check with you whether a custom communication app brings real added value.

Yes. Working hours, breaks, vacation requests and approvals can be mapped in one app and passed on to your payroll. How you structure time tracking under labor law is something to clarify with your legal advisor – we implement the requirements technically.

Native apps make the fullest use of camera, push and offline functions and are available in the app stores. A progressive web app runs in the browser, can be distributed without a store and is often cheaper. We recommend the variant that fits your devices, users and budget.

Technically yes; organizationally you need clear rules, for example on voluntary participation, data separation and availability. We keep company data in the app cleanly separated and deletable. This does not replace an assessment under labor and data protection law.
