How much does a corporate design cost – and what is included in the price?
A corporate design is the foundation for your company being recognized on its website, printed materials and social media. This guide shows what the costs consist of, which items are often overlooked and how to compare quotes.

What a corporate design costs depends on how comprehensive the visual identity should be: a single logo is something different from a complete system of logo, colors, fonts, imagery, business stationery and style guide. Other price drivers are the preparatory work on positioning, the number of design directions and revision rounds, the applications and the usage rights granted. We quote corporate design individually based on scope together with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN; for the digital implementation on the website, our packages give an orientation – Starter from €2,500, Professional from €8,000, Enterprise individually.
Corporate design, logo and branding: what belongs in the price?
Corporate design (CD) is a company’s visual identity: it determines how logo, colors, fonts, images and layouts are used everywhere. A logo is only one building block of it. This differs from corporate identity, which also covers attitude, communication and behavior, and from branding, which builds the brand as a whole – from positioning to presentation. Whether a quote means just a logo or an entire system decides the price range.
So have the quote list exactly which components are included. “Corporate design” is not a protected term, and some providers mean nothing more than a logo in two colors. A reliable visual identity shows in that someone can create a website, an ad or a business card from it without asking questions – and that is exactly what rules and a style guide are for.
- Logo as a wordmark, symbol or combination mark in several versions
- Color palette with primary and accent colors for print and screen
- Fonts for headings and body text
- Imagery, icon style and basic design rules
- Business stationery such as business card, letterhead and email signature
- Style guide as a rulebook for everyone working with the brand
From positioning to style guide: the service building blocks
A good corporate design does not begin with sketches but with questions: what does your company stand for, whom do you want to reach, what sets you apart from competitors? The answer becomes a positioning that justifies colors, shapes and tone. This step saves time later because decisions are traceable and do not depend on taste alone. It is also a cost factor that pure logo offers usually leave out.
Design, selection and refinement follow. Usually several directions are created first, you choose one, and it is refined, developed into variants and tested on real applications. Style guide and file handover complete the work. The more applications are considered in advance, such as website, social media, vehicle lettering or trade show booth, the greater the effort – and the fewer surprises in use.
How much does corporate design cost? The main price drivers
The starting situation makes the biggest difference. For a new company, everything is created from scratch; in a rebrand, existing printed materials, vehicles, signs and the website have to be considered, and the previous look often should remain recognizable. Then come the scope of the system, the number of design directions and the revision rounds: the more variants and rounds are agreed, the more time goes into the project.
That is why there is no fixed price list, and we deliberately do not quote flat figures. We calculate corporate design projects with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN by scope, preferably at a fixed price. If the new look is also to be implemented as a website, our packages give an orientation for that part: Starter from €2,500 for compact presences, Professional from €8,000 for extensive websites, Enterprise individually for large portals.
Logo generator, template or agency: what you save and what you risk
Logo generators and templates are cheap and fast but have limits. It is often unclear whether the mark is exclusive, whether it differs from similar logos and which rights you actually receive. For a brand that is meant to grow, that is a risk: a mark that does not clearly stand apart is harder to protect and harder to remember. For a short-term project or a test, a template can still be acceptable.
Also look closely at AI-generated drafts: whether copyright arises at all in purely AI-generated results, and how similar they are to existing marks, is not yet conclusively settled in law. An agency, by contrast, delivers a reasoned, individually developed system including files and clearly regulated rights. This does not replace legal advice – for trademark and copyright questions you should consult a specialist lawyer.
Usage rights, files, fonts and trademark: costs that are often overlooked
Under copyright law, the right to the design initially lies with the designer; you receive usage rights to the agreed extent. So clarify in writing what, where and for how long you may use the design and whether you may later change or extend it. The handover of files matters as well: vector formats for print, web formats and, where agreed, the open source files. Without them, every later change becomes needlessly expensive.
Then there are items that need not be part of the design fee: licenses for fonts and image material, a trademark search and the trademark application including official fees, and the implementation on signs, vehicles and printed materials. Ask in the quote what is included and what costs extra. Clarifying these points in advance avoids additional charges and lets you plan the total budget realistically.
Planning corporate design and website together
A visual identity unfolds its effect where customers see it every day – usually on the website. So plan both together: colors must offer enough contrast on screen, fonts must load quickly and imagery must work on a smartphone. If the design is created with the digital implementation in mind, it becomes a consistent design system with reusable elements that keeps new pages and features consistent later on.
At Nano Concepts, development and our partner agency LOMA DESIGN for corporate design and branding work together at the same location in Dudenhofen. That saves coordination and prevents a beautiful logo from failing on technical hurdles. A sensible route is a step-by-step rollout: first logo, colors and website, later printed materials, vehicles and further applications – this spreads the budget without losing the line.
These factors determine the cost
Starting situation
New company or rebrand: with existing materials, the switch on signs, printed items and website has to be planned too.
Strategy and positioning
A workshop, a look at competitors and a brand profile justify the design but add lead time.
Logo and design directions
Several directions and variants for color, black and white, landscape and portrait formats require more design work.
Revision rounds
The more rounds of feedback are agreed, the greater the time effort – clear feedback keeps it small.
Scope of the design system
Color palette, fonts, imagery, icons and layout rules turn a logo into a reliable visual identity.
Applications
Stationery, website, social media, vehicle, trade show or packaging each have to be designed and checked.
Style guide and files
A rulebook and clean files for print and web save time and follow-up costs later.
Rights, licenses and trademark protection
Usage rights, font and image licenses as well as trademark search and registration should be clearly named in the quote.
Your take-away checklist
- Clarify the goal: new company, rebrand or extension of an existing presence
- Note target group, competitors and the desired effect of the brand in keywords
- Make a list of the applications you need: website, printed materials, vehicle, social media
- Check the quote for design directions, revision rounds and file formats
- Regulate usage rights in writing: extent, duration, changes, passing on
- Ask about font and image licenses and a trademark search as possible extra costs
- Decide who in the company makes decisions and bundles feedback
- Plan the rollout: what is switched immediately and what follows step by step

A logo is one building block of corporate design, and its price depends on research, the number of design directions, variants, usage rights and delivered files. So compare the scope of services, not just the amount. A cheap logo without rights and source files can end up costing more than a complete offer.
The logo is the brand mark. Corporate design covers the entire visual appearance with colors, fonts, imagery and rules. Corporate identity goes beyond that and describes the attitude, communication and behavior of the company.
Not automatically. Under copyright law, clients receive usage rights to the agreed extent; whatever is not regulated can become disputed. So record the extent, duration and rights to modify in writing. This does not replace legal advice.
For example when your offering or target group has changed significantly, the look seems outdated, several inconsistent versions are in circulation or the company is being repositioned. A rebrand is a larger project because all media are affected. In the initial consultation we check whether a revision is enough.
Yes. It is common to begin with logo, colors, fonts and the website and to switch printed materials, vehicles or trade show appearances later. What matters is that the style guide takes all planned applications into account from the start so that the visual identity stays consistent.
