How much does a website relaunch cost – and what does the price depend on?
A relaunch is more than a new design: it affects structure, technology, content and your visibility on Google. This guide shows what the costs consist of, where you can save and how to recognize a complete quote.

What a website relaunch costs depends mainly on how deep it goes: a facelift with a new design is far smaller than a full rebuild with a new CMS, content migration and a search engine move. Other price drivers are the number of pages, features, integrations, multiple languages and the effort of protecting your existing rankings. At Nano Concepts, relaunches of compact websites start with the Starter package from €2,500, extensive relaunches with the Professional package from €8,000, and large portals are quoted individually as Enterprise projects. You receive the exact quote, preferably at a fixed price, after the free initial consultation.
Website relaunch: what is included – and what is not?
A relaunch means fundamentally renewing an existing website. That can be a simple facelift that mainly updates the look, a structural relaunch with a new page architecture and revised copy, or a complete rebuild on new technology. How far your project goes determines the price more than any single feature. That is why an honest inventory is worth doing first: what works, what brings inquiries, what is outdated?
A relaunch is not the same as maintenance or small adjustments. Updating a plugin, swapping an image or fixing a form is not a relaunch service. Conversely, a real relaunch involves more than design: goals, structure, content, technology, the search engine move, testing and launch all depend on each other. A quote that only lists “new design” usually does not cover this work.
- Facelift: new design with largely the same structure and technology
- Structural relaunch: new page architecture, revised content, better user guidance
- Rebuild: new CMS or new technology, migration of content and data
- Relaunch with a rebrand: new corporate design and a new tone of voice
- Partial relaunch: individual areas such as the store, careers page or service pages
Which services are built into the relaunch price
A complete relaunch does not start with the design but with analysis: which pages generate inquiries and visitors today, which content is outdated, which technical problems slow the site down? From that come goals, a new page structure and a concept. Only then do design, development and the revision of the content follow. The more thorough this groundwork is, the fewer corrections cost time and money later.
Then there are services you cannot see in the result but which decide its success: the search engine move with redirects, setting up tracking again, legal adjustments such as the privacy policy and cookie consent, tests on different devices and training on how to maintain the site. Ask about these items in the quote – they are the most common reason why two quotes look alike but are not actually comparable.
- Analysis of the existing website, goals and target groups
- Page structure, concept and user guidance
- Design and development, responsive on all devices
- Revision and migration of content
- Search engine move with a URL plan and redirects
- Tracking, privacy, testing, launch and training
What does a website relaunch cost at an agency? The price drivers
The biggest levers are scope and depth. A compact company website with a few subpages is rebuilt faster than a presence with service areas, a blog, a careers page and several languages. It also matters whether content can be carried over or has to be created: current texts, photos and videos save budget, while missing content creates effort in copywriting, image selection and approvals.
Technology and features add to this. Switching the content management system means transferring data and testing; integrations with your CRM, store or booking system have to be connected again. Our packages give you an orientation: the Starter package from €2,500 suits compact websites, the Professional package from €8,000 suits extensive relaunches with features, migration and an SEO move. We quote large portals individually as Enterprise projects.
SEO migration: the cost item that protects your rankings
Relaunches often lose visibility because the old address structure disappears without a plan. Google knows your current pages by their addresses (URLs); if these change, the old addresses need a permanent redirect (301) to the matching new page. This includes a URL plan, carrying over titles, descriptions and headings, and a check after launch. The effort is small compared with the whole project, yet it protects what you have built up over years.
Also allow time for a review after launch: were all redirects set correctly, can the pages be indexed, do the sitemap and Search Console work? Errors creep in especially when the system changes, such as pages blocked by accident or duplicate content. If a quote does not include an SEO migration, ask about it – otherwise you carry the risk that inquiries drop after the launch.
Relaunch or rebuild? When which depth pays off
A facelift pays off when structure, content and technology fundamentally hold up and mainly the look is outdated. A deeper relaunch makes sense when visitors cannot find your offers, the site is hard to use on a smartphone, the system is no longer updated or features such as appointment booking and a customer area are missing. First check the figures you already have: inquiries, most visited pages, bounces and loading time.
A complete rebuild is the most labor-intensive route but sometimes the most economical one, when an old website can only be maintained with great effort. If you have collected extensions and workarounds for years, you pay extra for every change. Compare the total cost over several years, not just the price of the project. In the initial consultation we review your website and recommend the depth that fits your goal.
Cut relaunch costs without saving in the wrong place
You keep the budget under control by setting clear goals, delivering content early and naming a contact person with decision-making authority. Split the project into phases: first the pages that bring inquiries go live, then the blog, additional languages or extra features follow. That spreads the investment and the website starts earning sooner. An honest content check helps too: not migrating superfluous pages in the first place saves effort.
Do not save on the SEO migration, mobile display, loading time, security and legally required information. Mistakes here cost many times more later. Also pay attention to rights and access: domain, hosting, design and source code should belong to you or be clearly regulated. Then the new website stays independent – and switching providers later is no problem.
These factors determine the cost
Depth of the relaunch
A facelift, a structural relaunch and a complete rebuild differ considerably in effort.
Scope and number of pages
Every page has to be reviewed, revised or rewritten, designed and tested.
State of the content
Current texts, photos and videos reduce the effort; missing content has to be created first.
Design ambition
A new corporate design or individual layout costs more than adapting an existing design.
Technology and CMS change
A new system requires data transfer, setup and testing; staying in the current system is usually cheaper.
Features and integrations
Appointment booking, store, customer area or a connection to CRM and inventory management increase development and testing.
SEO migration
A URL plan, redirects, carrying over metadata and a check after launch protect your existing rankings.
Legal and tracking
Privacy, cookie consent, legal notice and measurement have to be reviewed and set up again.
Your take-away checklist
- Define the goal of the relaunch: more inquiries, a new target group, a new brand or new technology
- Save current figures: visitors, inquiries, most visited pages, loading time
- List all pages and decide which stay, change or are dropped
- Separate must-have features from nice-to-have features
- Clarify who delivers texts, photos and logo, and by when
- Check the quote for SEO migration, tracking, testing and training
- Clarify access, domain, hosting and usage rights
- Record the budget range, phases and desired launch date

There is no serious flat figure because scope, depth, technology, features and content vary greatly. What matters is whether it is a facelift or a rebuild with an SEO migration. At Nano Concepts, relaunches start with the Starter package from €2,500 and more extensive ones with the Professional package from €8,000; you receive the exact quote after the free initial consultation.
A pure redesign without changing structure and technology is usually cheaper than a complete relaunch. Check, however, whether loading time, mobile display and structure are considered as well – otherwise the site only looks fresher but does not work better. In the initial consultation we clarify which depth makes sense.
That depends on scope, technology and how quickly content and approvals are available. Compact websites are finished faster than extensive presences with migration and integrations. We give you a realistic schedule after the inventory in the initial consultation.
Not necessarily – but the risk rises if addresses change, no redirects are set or important content is removed. A URL plan with 301 redirects, carried-over metadata and a check after launch limits this risk. Fluctuations after the go-live are still possible and should be monitored.
Revising individual pages is enough if structure and technology hold up. A relaunch pays off when the website is outdated, hard to maintain, poorly usable on mobile or no longer serves its purpose. Look at inquiries, bounces and maintenance effort to decide.
Domain, hosting, SSL certificate, maintenance and, where applicable, licenses for extensions. How high they are depends on the system and the support you want. A good quote lists the ongoing costs separately from the one-time costs.
