How much does Google Ads management cost – and what does the price depend on?
Many people imagine “Google Ads costs X” as a fixed price – in fact the bill consists of several parts. This guide shows what you pay Google, what the agency charges and how to recognize good management.

With Google Ads you pay two separate items: the ad budget, which goes directly to Google and whose amount you set yourself, and the agency’s fee for setup, ongoing optimization and reports. The fee depends on the number of campaigns and campaign types, the tracking effort, the ad content, the quality of the landing pages and the billing model – for example a flat fee or a share of the ad budget. We deliberately do not quote click prices because they vary by industry, region and competition. We calculate management individually by scope with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN; for the landing page and website, our packages give an orientation (Starter from €2,500, Professional from €8,000).
Google Ads costs: ad budget and management are two items
The ad budget is the money you spend on ads. You set it yourself, for example as a daily or monthly budget, and it is billed directly by Google. As a rule you can adjust it at any time or pause campaigns. How much a single click or an inquiry costs is determined in an auction and cannot be predicted with a flat figure – which is exactly why this item never belongs in an agency’s fixed price.
Management is the fee for the work around the account: setup, maintenance, evaluation and advice. It is billed separately from the ad budget. Make sure the Google Ads account is held in your company’s name and that you can see at any time where the budget goes. Then control stays with you, and switching agencies later is possible without losing data.
- Ad budget: payment to Google, you control the amount and distribution
- Management fee: payment to the agency for setup, optimization and reports
- One-time: account setup, keyword research, tracking and landing pages
- Ongoing: evaluation, adjusting bids, ads and search terms
- Optional: image and video material, tests and additional landing pages
What management includes: from setup to report
Setup comes first: defining goals, planning the account structure, researching search terms, writing ad copy, adding extensions such as phone number or location and setting up conversion tracking. Without tracking you do not know which ads bring inquiries. Setup is therefore not a side issue but the basis of all later optimization and is often a one-time item in the quote.
Then ongoing management begins. It includes evaluating search terms, excluding unsuitable queries, testing new ads, adjusting bids and distributing the budget to successful campaigns. Add understandable reports and regular check-ins. How often this happens and how detailed it is affects the fee directly – agree on a rhythm that fits your budget.
Fee models: flat fee, share of budget or hourly effort
Three models are common. With a fixed monthly flat fee you know the costs in advance, which makes planning easier. With a share of the ad budget, the fee grows with the budget; that is transparent but creates an incentive to recommend more budget. With billing by effort you pay for hours actually worked, which is flexible but requires control and time tracking. Which model fits depends on your budget and on how much predictability you need.
Also check the contract terms: minimum term, notice period, setup fee and the question of who owns the account and the data. Be skeptical of promises such as “guaranteed position 1” or fixed results – nobody can promise a placement on Google because it depends on the auction, competition and quality. Serious offers name services and goals, not guarantees.
The cost factors: campaign types, scope and tracking
The effort grows with the number and type of campaigns. A search campaign for one service at one location is manageable; an online store with a product feed, several campaign types, languages and regions needs considerably more care. Ad content counts too: anyone who also uses images or videos needs design and ongoing tests. The more services, products or locations are advertised, the larger the account structure.
Another factor is measurement. Inquiries via forms, calls or purchases have to be recorded cleanly, and that requires that visitor consent is integrated correctly on a technical level. The effort is higher once, but it pays off because you can evaluate cost per inquiry instead of just clicks. Please clarify legal questions on consent and advertising with a specialist lawyer; this does not replace legal advice.
Landing pages and technology: the item that helps decide success
An ad is only as good as the page it leads to. If the landing page loads slowly, is hard to use on a smartphone or asks for too much in the form, part of the budget goes to waste. Google also rates the landing page experience as part of ad quality. It is therefore worth planning landing page, loading time and form together with the campaign rather than treating them as a side issue.
This is where we at Nano Concepts come in: we develop landing pages and websites, set up tracking cleanly on the technical side, connect forms to your CRM and ensure fast loading times. We handle campaign management together with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN. For the page itself, the packages give an orientation: Starter from €2,500 for a compact landing page or website, Professional from €8,000 for extensive presences with features.
Recognize good management and keep costs under control
You recognize good management by clear goals, understandable reports and an account that belongs to you. Decide in advance what an inquiry or a sale is worth to you; that tells you how much you can spend per result. Start with a manageable budget and a few clearly defined campaigns, evaluate the first weeks and scale only when the numbers hold up.
Ask who manages your account, how quickly inquiries are answered and which measures were actually implemented in the month. Distrust reports that show only clicks and impressions but no inquiries. And note that advertising claims must be permissible under competition law – misleading ads can lead to cease-and-desist letters. That too does not replace legal advice.
These factors determine the cost
Campaign types
Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Display or video campaigns differ in setup and maintenance.
Scope of the offering
The more services, products and locations are advertised, the larger the account structure.
Languages and regions
Several countries or languages mean separate ads, search terms and evaluations.
Ads and visual material
Texts, images and videos have to be created, tested and continuously improved.
Conversion tracking
Recording forms, calls and purchases cleanly requires technical setup and correctly integrated consent.
Landing pages
Landing page, loading time and form help decide how much of the budget leads to inquiries.
Reports and coordination
Reporting rhythm, meetings and depth of advice directly affect the time required.
Billing model and term
Flat fee, budget share or effort as well as minimum term and notice period shape the total cost.
Your take-away checklist

There is no serious flat figure because the number of campaigns, tracking effort, ad content and billing model vary greatly. We calculate management individually by scope together with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN. You receive the exact quote after the free initial consultation.
You pay the ad budget directly to Google; you determine its amount. You pay the fee for setup, optimization and reports separately to the agency. Have both items listed clearly in the quote so you can see the total cost.
That cannot be stated reliably as a flat figure: the click price is determined in an auction and depends on industry, region, competition, search terms and the quality of the ad and landing page. So we do not quote click prices. A realistic estimate is only possible after a keyword analysis for your industry.
Work backwards from the goal: how many inquiries or sales do you need, how many of them do you close, and what is a result worth to you? That tells you how much you can spend per inquiry. A test budget for the first weeks makes sense, which you then adjust based on real data.
Managing it yourself is possible but costs time to learn and maintain, and mistakes in account structure or tracking burn budget. An agency brings experience, method and evaluation. What matters is that you keep your account and understand the numbers.
Ads are reviewed by Google before they are shown and can then be visible quickly. The first weeks, however, are used to collect data and fine-tune ads, search terms and landing page. Reliable statements are only possible once there is enough data.
