Logistics & Transportation: software that fits your workflows

In logistics, information about a shipment often matters as much as the shipment itself. Where are the goods, when will they arrive, who signed for them? Logistics software answers these questions automatically – for your dispatchers, your drivers and your customers. Instead of callbacks, paper delivery notes and lists updated after the fact, you get a continuous flow of data. Your dispatch team can see at any time which routes are running, where there are problems and which orders are still open.

01

Nano Concepts develops web applications for route planning and dispatch, mobile apps for drivers with scanning and digital proof of delivery, offline-capable solutions for inventory counts, and customer portals with shipment status. Through interfaces, we connect your systems with parcel carriers, online stores and customers so that labels, tracking numbers and status updates flow without manual work. For recurring tasks such as delivery notifications or delay alerts to customer service, we set up automated workflows.

02

Because logistics is rarely just software, we also cover the hardware side: together with our IT service partners RELEDER and FAIMA IT Services, we equip warehouse locations across Germany with scanners, printers, terminals and Wi-Fi – coordinated with shift changes and peak times. You get planning, development and rollout from a single source – with dedicated contacts who know your project from the start.

Challenges

Typical challenges in Logistics & Transportation

We hear these topics again and again in conversations with companies in the industry.

Status inquiries by phone

Customers call to find out where their shipment is. Dispatchers spend a lot of time providing information instead of planning – even though the answers could long have been in the system.

Paper in the truck cab

Delivery notes, proof of delivery and damage reports are recorded on paper, retyped later and sometimes lost – with consequences for billing and claims.

Many partners, many formats

Parcel carriers, freight forwarders and customers supply data in different formats. Without interfaces, you end up with a patchwork of exports and copy-and-paste.

Dead zones in warehouse and vehicle

In back aisles, cold storage or on country roads, there's no network. Applications that only work online slow down work there.

Rising shipment volumes

Solutions built for small volumes become slow as you grow. Reports take ages, labels get stuck, and the interface responds with delays.

Approach

How we work

  1. Map the data flowTogether with you, we trace the path of a shipment from order to invoicing and mark every manual handover. This shows where software delivers the greatest benefit.
  2. Think mobile firstWe design apps for drivers and warehouse staff for one-handed use, with camera scanning and offline storage. Data syncs automatically as soon as there's reception again.
  3. Interfaces instead of isolated solutionsWe connect parcel carriers, online stores, ERP and customer systems via API and log every data exchange. If a partner changes its interface, we adapt the integration as part of maintenance.
  4. Designed for growthCompute-intensive tasks such as generating shipping documents run in the background via queues. This keeps the interface fast even with many shipments, and the infrastructure can be expanded.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Logistics & Transportation

A simple web application, for example for shipment inquiries, starts in the Starter package from €2,500. Dispatch solutions with driver app, backend and interfaces are in the Professional package from €8,000. Platforms for multiple locations and partners are priced individually in the Enterprise package – after the free initial consultation and, when the scope is clear, preferably at a fixed price.

That depends on how it's used. For camera scanning, offline operation and push notifications, a native app or a progressive web app makes sense. For dispatch and customer portals, a web application in the browser is usually sufficient. We recommend the option that fits your processes and your budget.

In many cases, yes, provided the system offers an interface or a data export. We check the options in advance and extend your existing software in a targeted way instead of replacing it unnecessarily.

Customer portals show each customer only their own shipments – even if someone deliberately tries out tracking numbers. Add to that encrypted transmission, tiered permissions and logging. We can only give a general overview of the contractual or data protection obligations that apply to you – this does not replace legal advice.

We usually start with a pilot area, such as one route or one warehouse section, and expand after the first experiences. We train drivers and warehouse staff; if needed, our partner teams on site handle the hardware setup.
