Short & clear

WordPress maintenance covers the regular updating of WordPress core, themes and plugins, automatic backups with tested restoration, security measures, availability monitoring and keeping the PHP version current. At Nano Concepts, updates are tested beforehand, all work is logged, and scope, interval and change allowance are set out in a maintenance contract. Ongoing costs depend on scope and are quoted individually; a one-time takeover with cleanup can fall under the Starter package from €2,500, depending on effort.

WordPress maintenance with Nano Concepts

WordPress maintenance means that someone reliably takes care of everything a WordPress website needs after going live: updates for core, theme and plugins, regular backups, security measures and availability monitoring. Many security vulnerabilities don't affect WordPress itself, but outdated plugins and themes. Anyone who postpones updates for months risks hacked sites, spam redirects or forms that silently stop delivering inquiries. As a WordPress maintenance agency, we take on these tasks on a fixed schedule and document every step.

01

We don't roll out updates blindly. We test larger version jumps in a staging environment first or take a full backup of the website beforehand, so that we can go back to the previous state immediately if problems occur. After every update we check the most important pages, contact forms and, for WooCommerce, the checkout process. Plugins that are no longer being developed are replaced with maintained alternatives. We also keep an eye on your server's PHP version, because older versions no longer receive security updates and also slow the website down.

02

What goes into your WordPress maintenance contract is something we define together: update interval, backup retention, monitoring, response times and a block of hours for small changes such as new pages, texts or features. The cost depends on this scope rather than on a flat fee that nobody understands in the end. We also take over websites built by other agencies – starting with a check of plugins, theme, server and security. For design adjustments, SEO and content, we work with our partner agency LOMA DESIGN at the same location.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about WordPress maintenance

The monthly cost depends on the number of plugins, store features, update interval, response times and change allowance; you receive an individual quote based on scope. A one-time takeover with cleanup and stabilization can fall under the Starter package from €2,500, depending on effort. We quote maintenance contracts with fixed response times and reporting individually in the Enterprise package.

At a minimum: update interval, scope and retention of backups, monitoring, response times for incidents and an allowance for changes. It should also specify who manages access and how incidents are reported. We define these points together and document them in plain language.

Outdated plugins and themes are a common entry point for attacks on WordPress websites. Without maintenance, there is also a greater risk that an update made too late brings many changes at once and breaks the website. Regular care keeps security, load time and functionality stable.

Security updates should be installed promptly as soon as they are released. For all other updates, a fixed rhythm has proven its worth, such as weekly or monthly, depending on how important the website is and how many plugins it uses. We set the right rhythm in the maintenance contract.

Yes. We first review plugins, theme, server and security and tell you openly what condition the website is in. Then we stabilize it and take over ongoing maintenance – or recommend a relaunch if that makes more economic sense.

After the free initial consultation, we receive access to WordPress, hosting and domain and carry out the WordPress check. Then we clean up the installation and start ongoing maintenance on the agreed schedule. Depending on the condition of the website, the onboarding phase usually takes a few days to a few weeks.
