SAP Integration: Connect Your Shop, Portal and Apps to SAP

We connect your SAP system with your online store, customer portal, mobile app or third-party software – so orders, prices and stock levels no longer have to be maintained twice. We coordinate closely with your SAP team or SAP consulting partner on the SAP side.

Short & clear

SAP interface programming connects SAP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC or SAP Business One with other applications – depending on the system via OData or REST services, BAPIs over RFC, or IDocs. Nano Concepts develops the connected applications and the integration logic in between, and coordinates authorizations and SAP-side settings with your SAP team. Depending on scope, projects fall under the Professional package from €8,000 or the individually quoted Enterprise package; the exact quote follows after the free initial consultation.

SAP integration with Nano Concepts

Anyone who uses SAP wants to maintain orders, customer data, prices and stock levels in one place only – and still show them up to date in the online store, customer portal or field service app. That is exactly why companies have an SAP interface programmed. We build the connection so that orders from the shop land in SAP as sales orders, prices and availability flow back, and invoices or delivery status become visible in the portal. Depending on the system, we use the appropriate routes: OData and REST services, BAPIs via RFC, IDocs for document exchange or, for SAP Business One, the Service Layer.

01

An honest word on the division of roles: we specialize in the applications around SAP and in the integration logic in between – shop, portal, app and middleware. What has to be set up in the SAP system itself, such as authorizations, the activation of services or IDoc partner agreements, we coordinate closely with your SAP department or SAP consulting partner. That way your core system stays in the hands of those who look after it, while the interface is still planned, tested and documented as one coherent piece.

02

For operations, the rule is this: SAP is usually the leading system, and a faulty interface quickly shows up in day-to-day business. That's why we buffer transfers through queues, retry failed calls in a controlled way and make every record traceable in monitoring. For shops and portals with heavy traffic, we mirror prices and stock levels into a fast cache so that not every page view puts load on SAP. We bring experience with ERP integrations from, among others, a B2B wholesale portal with more than 5,000 items.

Scope of services

What we deliver for you

SAP interfaces for shop, portal and app – synchronize orders, prices and stock levels with SAP without duplicate data entry.

Shop & portal connection

Orders, customer accounts, customer-specific prices and availability are synchronized between SAP and your shop or B2B portal.

OData & REST integration

Connection to the OData services of SAP S/4HANA or SAP Gateway, or to the Service Layer of SAP Business One.

BAPI & RFC connection

Where modern services are missing, we use established SAP function modules via RFC – coordinated with your SAP team.

IDoc processing

Documents such as orders, advance shipping notices or invoices are received via IDoc, validated and transferred into your applications.

Middleware with queue

An intermediate layer buffers data, translates formats and decouples your applications from SAP maintenance windows.

Monitoring & error log

Every transferred document is traceable. When errors occur, the people responsible receive a notification with the cause.

Your benefits

Why companies choose us

SAP stays the lead system

Master data and documents continue to be maintained in SAP. All connected applications work with the same data.

No double entry

Orders from shop, portal or app land directly in SAP instead of being re-entered by inside sales.

A relieved core system

Caches and queues protect SAP from load peaks caused by web applications.

Clear responsibilities

Your SAP team is responsible for the core system, we for the interface – cleanly documented and clearly delineated.

How your project works

  1. Define the integration scenarioWhich data flows in which direction, how often, and which system is the leading one in each case? We document this with the business department and the SAP team.
  2. Choose the interface technologyTogether with your SAP team, we decide whether to use OData services, BAPIs, IDocs or existing integration tools, and clarify authorizations.
  3. Develop against the test systemWe develop against your SAP test or quality assurance system, not against production.
  4. Integration testing & acceptanceWith the business departments, we run through real business cases – from the standard order to cancellation.
  5. Go-live & monitoringAfter going live, we monitor the transfers and adapt the interface to SAP updates or new requirements.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about SAP integration

The effort depends mainly on which SAP system you use, which services are already available and how many business transactions are mapped. Clearly scoped connections can usually be implemented in the Professional package from €8,000; extensive integrations of several systems fall under the Enterprise package with individual quoting. The exact quote follows after the free initial consultation and a brief system analysis.

First, we clarify the integration scenario and interface technology with your SAP team. Then we develop against your test system, test real business cases with the business departments and go live after your sign-off. The duration depends heavily on approvals and coordination on the SAP side, which is why we plan for them from the start.

Common ones are OData or REST services that SAP S/4HANA provides via SAP Gateway, classic BAPIs that are called via RFC, and IDocs for exchanging business documents. SAP Business One offers its own REST interface with the Service Layer. Which variant fits depends on your system, the data volume and the requirements of your SAP department.

For settings in the SAP system itself, usually yes – for example for authorizations, the activation of services or IDoc partner agreements. We take care of the integration logic and the connected applications and coordinate directly with your consulting partner. That way each side works in its own area of expertise.

Yes. Orders from the shop can be passed to SAP as sales orders, while prices, stock levels and delivery status flow back. For high traffic we recommend a cache so that the shop stays fast and SAP is not queried on every page view.

When switching from SAP ECC to S/4HANA, data structures and available services partly change. Middleware that decouples your applications from SAP makes this step easier: mainly the connection to SAP is then adapted, not every single application. That's why we factor planned migrations into the concept from the start.
