Short & clear

A vulnerability assessment systematically tests a website, online store or web application for known security risks on behalf of its operator – at Nano Concepts along the OWASP Top 10, with automated scans and manual review. The result is a prioritized findings list with recommendations, including remediation and a re-test on request; it is expressly not a formal penetration test. Depending on scope, this is possible for a company website in the Starter package from €2,500, while extensive web applications usually fall under the Professional package from €8,000 – the exact quote follows after the free initial consultation.

Website vulnerability assessment with Nano Concepts

A vulnerability assessment shows you where your website, online store or web application is vulnerable – and what to do first. We test exclusively on behalf of and with written authorization from the operator, systematically along the OWASP Top 10, the most common risks for web applications: logins and access rights, forms and file uploads, interfaces, server configuration and outdated components. We combine automated scans with manual review, so that flaws in the application logic that a scanner alone would miss are caught too. The result is a prioritized findings list in plain language.

01

Many companies first search for a pentest provider but actually need a thorough security review followed by remediation. Our vulnerability assessment is deliberately not a formal penetration test: it covers the typical risks of a website or web app and doesn't end with the report, but with closed gaps. If a tender, a client or an insurer explicitly requires a formal pentest – for example by a testing service provider certified by the BSI (the German Federal Office for Information Security) – we tell you openly whether our scope is enough or a specialized tester makes sense. On request, we then fix the findings from an external pentest for you.

02

Because we develop websites, online stores and web applications ourselves, we also fix the vulnerabilities we find directly – in the code, in the server configuration or through updates. Afterward, we test again and confirm that the gap is closed. That way you don't just get a list, but a demonstrably better-protected application and documentation you can use to answer questions from customers, partners or investors about technical security. Please clarify questions about data protection or liability with your legal counsel. This does not replace legal advice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Website vulnerability assessment

A vulnerability assessment systematically tests your website or web application for known risks and delivers a prioritized findings list – with us along the OWASP Top 10 and followed by remediation. A formal penetration test follows a defined testing methodology with its own evidence report and is explicitly required, for example, in tenders or by clients. Our offering is not a formal pentest; if you need one, we tell you openly whether our scope is enough or a specialized pentest provider makes sense.

Depending on scope, a vulnerability assessment including remediation for a company website or store is possible in the Starter package from €2,500. We quote extensive web applications with roles, interfaces and several systems in the Professional package from €8,000 or individually as Enterprise. The cost of a formal pentest is set by the respective testing provider; in the free initial consultation, we clarify which option you need and then send you an exact quote.

For a typical company website, the assessment is usually completed within a few days, while extensive web applications with many roles and interfaces take longer. How long remediation takes depends on the number and type of findings. Once the test scope is defined, we give you a concrete timeframe.

Free online checks usually only test what is visible from the outside, such as encryption, security headers or the CMS version. They generally don't detect flaws in logins, access rights or forms. For a reliable answer, we combine automated scans with manual review and evaluate the findings in the context of your application.

We agree the time window and test intensity with you in advance and test gently, so that visitors and orders are not disrupted. For sensitive systems, we test a test environment first if you wish. A current backup should be in place before we begin – we clarify that in the preliminary call.

You receive a prioritized findings list with recommendations; on request, we fix the findings and document the measures implemented. This documentation can help you demonstrate technical safeguards to customers or partners. Whether your company is set up in compliance with data protection overall is a legal question. This does not replace legal advice.
