Short & clear

Shopware plugin development produces a custom extension for Shopware 6 that adds functions neither the standard version nor the Shopware Store handles cleanly – such as custom pricing logic, product configurators, checkout rules or data exports. Nano Concepts develops plugins based on Symfony, Shopware's Data Abstraction Layer and Vue.js for the administration, and keeps them compatible across updates. Small plugins usually fall under the Starter package from €2,500, extensive extensions under the Professional package from €8,000; the exact quote follows after the free initial consultation.

Shopware plugin development with Nano Concepts

Shopware plugin development is needed when your store should do something that neither Shopware 6 as standard nor an extension from the Shopware Store covers. Typical cases are prices by customer group and quantity that come from the ERP, product configurators with dependencies, special shipping or payment rules, B2B functions such as approvals and budgets, or exports for marketplaces. As a Shopware plugin developer, we build exactly this function as a custom plugin – lean, testable and without touching the Shopware core.

01

Shopware 6 offers a clean architecture for this. Plugins are based on Symfony bundles, extend data through the Data Abstraction Layer, react to events and adapt storefront templates in Twig; we extend the administration with Vue.js components. For stores in the Shopware Cloud, or when logic should deliberately run outside the store, we develop apps that communicate via webhooks and the Admin API. Where it's enough, we use Flow Builder and Rule Builder instead of writing code – which saves maintenance later.

02

Before we develop, we check the Shopware Store: if there is a maintained extension that fits with a small adjustment, that is often the cheaper solution, and we'll tell you so. If it has to be a custom plugin, it is built in a test environment with version control in Git and automated tests. You receive documented source code and, on request, a maintenance contract under which we check and adapt the plugin for Shopware updates. We also take over plugins from other developers when their further development stalls.

Scope of services

What we deliver for you

Custom plugins and apps for Shopware 6 – for pricing logic, configurators, checkout rules or exports, developed to be update-ready.

Requirements analysis & Store check

We clarify the desired function and check whether the standard version, Flow Builder or a Store extension already covers it.

Plugin architecture

Data model, events, configuration and interfaces are planned so that the plugin doesn't modify the Shopware core.

Storefront extensions

Adjustments to the product page, cart and checkout via Twig templates and JavaScript plugins – matching your theme.

Administration modules

Custom modules, fields and settings in the Shopware administration, so your team can operate the function without a developer.

Apps & API integration

Shopware apps with webhooks, as well as connections to external systems via the Admin API and Store API.

Testing, documentation & maintenance

Automated tests, technical documentation and compatibility checks for new Shopware versions.

Your benefits

Why companies choose us

Your workflow, not a compromise

The plugin maps your pricing, shipping or ordering logic instead of bending your processes to fit a standard extension.

Cleanly separated from the core

Because we only work through official extension points, Shopware updates remain possible.

Fewer extensions, more clarity

A targeted solution often replaces several Store plugins with overlapping functions and reduces conflicts.

Maintainable and documented

Code in Git, tests and documentation keep the plugin understandable for later developers, too.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Shopware plugin development

Small plugins, such as an additional product field with logic or a data export, usually fall under the Starter package from €2,500. We price configurators, pricing logic with ERP integration or extensive administration modules under the Professional package from €8,000, and large extensions individually as an Enterprise project. After the free initial consultation you receive a transparent quote, preferably at a fixed price when the scope is clear.

Make sure plugins work exclusively through official extension points, meaning they don't modify core files, and that source code, tests and documentation are handed over. A good developer also first checks whether the standard version or the Shopware Store already solves the task. Ask how the plugin will be maintained through future Shopware updates.

A plugin runs directly in the store and can reach deep into logic, data and templates. An app communicates from outside via webhooks and APIs and is intended, among other things, for the Shopware Cloud, where no custom plugins can be installed. We recommend the variant that fits your hosting and your requirement.

A clearly defined plugin is often implemented in a few weeks; extensions with integrations or complex checkout logic need more time for coordination and testing. After the specification you receive a schedule with interim versions in the test environment.

We develop only through official interfaces, which makes updates much easier. Major version jumps can still require an adjustment – under a maintenance contract, we test new versions in advance in the test environment.

Yes, as long as the source code is available and the license allows modifications. We assess code quality and compatibility and tell you whether adapting or rebuilding is more economical.
