Short & clear

Good IT support for law firms keeps workstations, network, case management software and beA access stable, backs up data in a verified way and makes sure client data stays protected. It responds quickly, because deadlines don’t wait, and works discreetly, because confidentiality duties also apply to external service providers. Nano Concepts supports law firms by remote access and with partner teams on site; costs depend on scope, locations and time windows in an individual quote.

IT support for law firms with Nano Concepts

In a law firm, the day depends on technology: the brief has to go out on time, the file has to be reachable at every workstation, and the beA has to work when the deadline expires. If a computer or the network fails, that is not only annoying but can become a real problem. IT support for law firms therefore has to respond quickly, maintain proactively and work in a way that disrupts firm operations as little as possible.

01

We look after general law firm IT: workstations, network and Wi-Fi, printers and scanners for incoming mail, user accounts, updates, data backup and protection against malware. We solve many issues by remote access; for on-site visits, our partner teams from RELEDER and FAIMA IT Services step in. Case management software such as RA-MICRO or Advoware and the beA software remain the responsibility of their vendors – we make sure that workstation, network and interplay are right.

02

Lawyers and other professionals bound by professional secrecy must protect client data with particular care. If they use external service providers, special requirements apply, for example the obligation to confidentiality under professional law and section 203 of the German Criminal Code (§ 203 StGB). We enter into the necessary obligations and agreements with you, work with access rights as limited as possible and document access. The end of Windows 10 support on October 14, 2025 is also a topic: computers without regular security updates are a risk for client data. These notes do not replace legal advice.

What matters with IT support for law firms

Confidentiality at the service provider, too

External IT providers access systems containing client data and must be bound to confidentiality; professional law and § 203 StGB have to be observed.

Fast response around deadlines

A failure shortly before a deadline is critical; clear reporting channels and response times are therefore a key selection criterion.

beA and case management software working reliably

Cards, readers, drivers and software must work together at the workstation; responsibilities toward the vendors should be clear.

Verified data backup

Case files and client data need encrypted backups with regular restore tests and suitable retention.

Secure workstations, including mobile

Notebooks for court and home office need encryption, two-factor login and up-to-date systems; Windows 10 has no longer received regular security updates since October 14, 2025.

These are the features we build for you

Setup and monitoring of encrypted backups, including regular checks of the restore process.

Remote support for the firm’s team

Fast help from a distance for login problems, printer errors or software faults.

Windows 11 migration and documentation

Planning and carrying out the migration of older computers as well as an overview of devices, access and measures.

Practical examples

Here's what that looks like day to day

Small firm with two partners

There is no in-house IT department, and the secretary helps out with tech problems on the side. We take over maintenance and support by remote access so that nobody in the office has to deal with tech questions anymore.

Firm with home office and court appearances

Employees partly work on the move. We set up encrypted notebooks and secured access to the case file so that client data is protected on the road, too.

Firm with older computers

Some workstations still run Windows 10. We take inventory, plan the migration outside office hours and check the compatibility of the case management software beforehand.

Process

Four steps to your solution

  1. Initial consultation & IT checkWe record workstations, network, backups, software and responsibilities, including toward the vendors.
  2. Individual quoteYou receive a quote based on scope, locations and time windows, for example for visits outside office hours.
  3. Assessment & safeguardingWe document the IT, close identified gaps and set up remote access, two-factor login and backup.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about IT support for law firms

It looks after workstations, network, printers, user accounts, updates, security and data backup and helps with disruptions. At Nano Concepts this happens by remote access and on site with partner teams. Specialist software and beA technology stay with the vendors, with whom we coordinate.

That depends on the number of workstations, the locations, the scope of support and the time windows. After the free initial consultation you receive an individual quote.

If access is necessary, yes – but under conditions: the provider must be bound to confidentiality, and access should be limited to what is required and documented. Assessing the individual case is part of legal advice; our notes do not replace it.

We help make sure that workstation, card reader, drivers and network work together. The competent bodies and providers are responsible for the beA application itself as well as card and certificates, and we coordinate with them.

Then a fast response counts. In the quote we clarify reporting channels and response times and, on request, make sure with replacement devices and data backup that your team can keep working quickly. We set specific commitments out in the contract.

Yes, general firm IT is set up similarly at tax advisors. Specialist software such as DATEV is handled by the respective vendors, with whom we coordinate.
