Short & clear

A UX audit is an expert review of a website, app or software against recognized usability criteria, while a usability test observes real users solving typical tasks. Nano Concepts combines both and delivers a prioritized list of findings with concrete suggestions for improvement. Compact audits are possible in the Starter package from €2,500; the exact quote follows after the free initial consultation.

Usability testing with Nano Concepts

A usability test shows what numbers alone cannot: why people drop off at a certain point, overlook a button or misunderstand a function. We have people from your target group complete typical tasks – such as finding a product, submitting a form or creating an order – and observe where they hesitate. In addition, a UX audit reviews your website, app or software against recognized heuristics for weaknesses in navigation, forms, copy and accessibility.

01

The two methods complement each other. The UX audit is quick and covers many known error patterns, while usability testing provides evidence from real user behavior that convinces even skeptical stakeholders. Where available, we also analyze analytics data and – only with visitors' consent – session recordings. This shows us where anomalies cluster, and we choose the test tasks specifically where you are losing inquiries, revenue or productivity. For internal software, we observe employees directly at their workstations, because interruptions and time pressure play a role there.

02

In the end, you get not a thick report but a prioritized action list: each finding with a screenshot or video clip, severity, cause and a concrete proposed solution. We present the results so that management and development quickly understand what it is about. Because we do not just review but also design and develop, we implement the improvements directly if you wish – the design together with LOMA DESIGN, the technology at Nano Concepts. After implementation, we run a short follow-up test to check whether the tasks are now easier to complete.

  • Your internal software is being bypassed – teams prefer to keep Excel lists on the side.
  • There are different opinions in the team about usability, but no data from real users.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Usability testing

In a usability test, people from the target group complete typical tasks with a website, app or software while specialists observe where they hesitate, make mistakes or give up. The method shows not opinions but actual behavior. From it, we derive concrete improvements.

A UX audit is an expert review without test participants: specialists evaluate the interface against recognized criteria. Usability testing involves real users and shows how they actually handle the product. The audit is faster, the test provides stronger evidence – the combination delivers the most.

A compact UX audit for a website or a core flow is possible in the Starter package from €2,500. Combinations of audit, several test rounds and implementation of the measures usually fall under the Professional package from €8,000, and we price extensive software landscapes individually as Enterprise. You will receive the exact quote after the free initial consultation.

For qualitative tests, a few people per target group are often enough, because serious problems repeat quickly. Several small test rounds with improvements in between usually make more sense than one large round. We determine the right number based on target groups and research question.

An audit for a manageable website or a single flow is usually completed in a few weeks, including the final presentation. With test participants, the timeline extends by the time needed to recruit them and run the tests. We agree on the exact schedule in the initial consultation.

Yes, a check of key pages and flows for typical barriers under WCAG is part of our audit, for example contrast, keyboard operation and form labels. Whether and to what extent the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) applies to your offering should be reviewed by a legal advisor. Our information does not replace legal advice.
