Short & clear

Mobile game development covers the game concept, graphics, game logic and technical platform of a mobile game or browser game – including playtests, app store publication and, where applicable, monetization through in-app purchases or advertising. Nano Concepts develops learning, promotional and casual games and, with the Entrepreneur Game, is building its own business simulation together with LOMA DESIGN and FOUNDRS. A playable prototype or a small browser game is possible in the Starter package from €2,500; full game apps start in the Professional package from €8,000.

Mobile game development with Nano Concepts

Anyone who wants a game app developed needs more than a good idea: a game concept that is understandable in the first few seconds and still motivates for a long time. We develop mobile games for iOS and Android as well as browser games – from casual games with simple mechanics to quiz and learning games to branded games for campaigns, trade shows or sweepstakes. It always starts with a playable prototype that you use to test whether the core mechanic is fun, before investing in graphics and content.

01

Game development differs significantly from conventional apps. Instead of forms and lists, it is about game loops, level design, balancing, animation, sound and smooth rendering even on older devices. We choose the right technology for your project: web technologies for fast, cross-platform browser games, and engines such as Unity or Godot for more elaborate 2D and 3D titles. We keep game values in configuration files so that difficulty and rewards can be adjusted without new programming.

02

How a game idea becomes a product, we experience in our own project: with the Entrepreneur Game, we are developing, together with LOMA DESIGN and FOUNDRS, a realistic business simulation in which players invest, hire staff and market. That has taught us the questions that come after the prototype – progression systems, save states, monetization, data protection and age rating. We plan in-app purchases, advertising or a paid model fairly and so that they fit your target group and the app store guidelines.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Mobile game development

That depends heavily on scope, graphics effort and platforms. A playable prototype or a small browser or promotional game is possible in the Starter package from €2,500; we implement full game apps with backend, levels and store release in the Professional package from €8,000. We quote larger games with a lot of content individually in the Enterprise package – after the free initial consultation.

A playable prototype can often be tested after a few weeks. How long production takes after that depends on content, graphics and platforms; the review by Apple and Google adds to it. You receive a realistic schedule after the initial consultation and the concept phase.

Yes. You bring the idea, target group and goal; we handle refining the game design, programming, graphics together with LOMA DESIGN, and publishing. What matters is that you play along in the playtests regularly and give feedback.

We decide that based on your game. For 2D games that should also run in the browser, web technologies such as Phaser or PixiJS are a good fit. For more elaborate 2D or 3D games with many effects, we use engines such as Unity or Godot.

Common models are a one-time purchase price, in-app purchases, subscriptions or advertising – and, for branded and learning games, funding by the company itself. We recommend fair models that fit your target group and store guidelines; additional requirements apply to games aimed at children and teenagers. This does not replace legal advice.

The Entrepreneur Game is a realistic business simulation that Nano Concepts is developing together with LOMA DESIGN and FOUNDRS. Players invest, hire staff and market their offering – without real risk. You can find out more at entrepreneurgame.de.
