Short & clear

An e-learning platform, or learning management system (LMS), is a web application in which learners complete courses, videos and quizzes, and progress and certificates are recorded automatically. Nano Concepts develops learning platforms with roles, learning paths, payment or subscriptions and reporting, and has already built an LMS for more than 3,000 users with video streaming and a certificate generator. We usually implement custom learning platforms in the Professional package from €8,000, large academies with interfaces as Enterprise projects quoted individually – the exact quote follows after the free initial consultation.

E-learning platform development with Nano Concepts

An e-learning platform pays off as soon as knowledge has to be passed on to many people on a regular basis – to new employees in onboarding, in annual briefings, in product training for dealers or in online courses that you sell. Instead of repeating in-person sessions and keeping attendance lists in Excel, participants learn at their own pace on their computer or smartphone. The platform automatically records who has started or passed which course, reminds people of deadlines and issues certificates. When you have an e-learning platform developed, you get exactly the features, roles and workflows that your learning offerings need.

01

Good learning platforms combine several formats: short videos, texts and downloads, quizzes with instant feedback, assignments with submission and learning paths that unlock content in a sensible order. For companies, roles come into play – learners, trainers, managers and administrators each see only what they need. We map departments, locations or client companies as separate groups with their own courses and reports. On request, we import existing learning content in SCORM format or connect single sign-on, so that employees can log in with their familiar company account.

02

If you want to sell courses, the learning platform becomes an online academy with a store: individual courses, bundles or subscriptions, vouchers and automatic access after payment. We know from our own project experience how a learning platform works at larger scale – we built an LMS for more than 3,000 users with course management, video streaming, quizzes and a certificate generator based on React and Node.js. Design and user guidance are created together with LOMA DESIGN, so that learners enjoy coming back. We address data protection questions about learning data and rules for paid courses early on and refer you to your legal counsel for them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about E-learning platform development

A ready-made LMS is quick to get started if your requirements are standard and per-user license costs are not a concern for you. A custom e-learning platform is worthwhile if you sell courses under your own brand, need special roles or approvals, expect many users or want to connect the learning platform with HR, CRM or store systems. We will tell you openly which route fits your project.

What matters are the number of roles, features such as payment or single sign-on, and the scope of reporting. We usually implement learning platforms with course management, video, quizzes and certificates in the Professional package from €8,000; academies with a store, separate areas for several client companies or HR interfaces are quoted individually as Enterprise projects. We prepare the exact quote after the free initial consultation, once learning goals and user groups are defined.

That depends on the feature scope and on whether course content already exists. We often start with a pilot group and some of the courses and then expand the platform step by step. You receive a realistic schedule after the concept phase.

In most cases, yes. Videos, presentations and documents can be transferred to the new platform, and learning content in SCORM format can be imported. We migrate participant data and previous records after prior review, so that no history is lost.

After a course or quiz is passed, the platform automatically generates a certificate as a PDF with name, course, date and, on request, a unique verification number. For recurring briefings you set validity periods, and the system reminds participants and those responsible in good time about the refresher. Whether a certificate meets a particular formal recognition depends on your industry and the issuer.

Learning progress and test results are personal data, especially for employees. We implement roles so that only authorized people see results, host in the EU and, on request, show reports in aggregated rather than personal form. Whether the works council must be involved, or whether German distance-learning rules apply to paid courses, for example, you should clarify with your legal counsel – this note does not replace legal advice.
